Lale Kadinlar is Turkish for "Tulip Women"
Our name was selected in support of the Ottoman Trading Co., a Turkish
Import Gift Store and Dance Studio where we rehearse. Ottoman Trading
Co. is owned by Dena Sukaya, our favorite supplier of wonderful assortments of
Turkish gifts, coffee, jewelry, rugs/carpets, clothing, hand-painted
plates/bowls and a full assortment of Middle Eastern Dance Costuming!!
Plus Dena is currently the exclusive distributor of Gypsy's Hand-Painted/Hand-Dyed Silks!!
Gypsy de Rose is the Troupe Leader, Instructor
and Choreographer. Each member is expected to add their own creativity
to the troupe. We are continually building our repertoire of dance
routines, choreographed to our favorite Middle Eastern and Gypsy-Fusion music.
Participation in Troupe classes is allowed
only with instructor's permission. Troupe membership is by audition
only and voted on by the members of the troupe. Not all class
participants are members of the troupe. New members will not be
performing with the troupe until they have learned all the dance routines
and prove themselves to be a good "fit" with the troupe and are "performance
ready". :) Various styles of troupe costuming and dance props
are required to be purchased by each member. Troupe members are
expected to attend classes with Gypsy on a regular basis so that you don't
fall behind the other troupe members who are dedicated to being in the
troupe and doing our best in everything that we do. |

We are rehearsing for the 2008 Hula-Hafla

Lale Kadinlar is
"Blossoming and Growing" into one of the finest performance groups in the
Pacific NW!
We feature Egyptian Cabaret,
Gypsy-Fusion and American Belly Dance that brings dance moves from around
the world together to form wonderful dance choreographies to entertain and
delight our audiences of all ages.
